Pah Los Enamorados
A study with poems about love and mixed media images.
May 2021
There are two sides of me.
One side of me always knows what to do, the other side of me doesn’t.
There are days when I do want to stay, there are days when I want to go as far as possible.
One side of me likes sunsets, warm hues
Pomegranate shaded lips that tease the inside of my thighs.
The other side likes sunrises, cool twilight skies
Blue veins running down arms to hands that guide my hips.
One side of me likes it when you pick flowers from the neighbor’s garden, tuck them behind my ear.
The other side of me likes it when you stop at a reflection of yourself and fix your hair, making sure you look good even though you know you always do.
I’m not sure which side of me works best with you, in fact I might not know at all.
I do know that both sides of me think of you all the time.
Both sides miss you when you’re not around.

Lyrics: New Hawaii By Injury Reserve (Feat. Dram, Tony Velour & Dylan Brady)
I hope that when the sun sets the colors of the world drown your pain away.
The way someone’s voice can mute the noise.
Thoughts, notions
Mental foreplay.
I hope the little things in life can bring you joy in a world buried in debris,
and you can find the strength to love yourself because that’s more important than loving me.
And just like the time we spent chasing the colors, we spend time chasing love,
but it slips away and we set it free.

Maybe it’s because I’m a passionate creator
I let joys and pains burst through the seam
They float through the air like feathers held up by laughter
Turning your universe into a place where you can dream.
Maybe it’s because I can light sparks in your head
With our crashing voices attracted like magnets
Left with the burning desire of the things unsaid
Of our ideas that take us to a neverland of fragments.
It’s the way I move through this universe
Effortless force of power
Boundless
Strength undefeatable like the beauty of an unwavering flower.
It’s the way I trust you when you say you love me
Behind my heartbeat I begin to store up the memories
Because hearts can change when the light shines on it at different angles
And I’ll hold on to the good times through out the miseries.
I use to write poems about how maybe it was all the things that were wrong with me.
Now I write poems about all the things that are right with me.
I wish poems like these made it hurt less
I wish poems like these weren’t always a mess.
